What made you interested in our work: While pursuing my undergraduate studies, I was fortunate to have Dr. Mathis as my physics professor for two consecutive sections. His commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in physics instruction deeply resonated with me. I strongly believe that every student, irrespective of their background, should have equal opportunities, and this equity begins in the classroom. My previous research experiences have centered on DEI, mainly focusing on the social determinants of health. I’m confident that the research carried out by this lab aligns with and can further expand upon that foundation.

Education: Michigan State University Lyman Briggs College – Major in Human Biology with minors in Health Promotion and Bioethics.
